Inspiration: Something Blue

Something-blue-3

The old saying, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", still has a lot of meaning to modern-day brides. Fun and meaningful traditions such as these are at the heart of wedding history and give ample room for injecting your own personal spin on things. The color blue is a classic in wedding design and easily coordinates with a myriad of other colors. From elegent to bohemian, the options are endless when starting with blue as your foundation.

Ampersand Wedding Photography gathered together some of our most talented vendors to create some stunning, blue-infused inspiration in a gorgeous outdoor setting. The color palette of french blue, navy, blush and magenta was softened by earthy greens and elegant lace details. Enjoy this sneak peak and pick up the Summer/Fall 2014 issue of Vermont Bride to see more!

Marry In Blue, Always Be True: Wear a trendy blue wedding gown. From barely tinted to deep navy, it's possible to find grand ball gowns in every shade of blue. Or incorporate something blue into your attire with rhinestone details, a sash, embroidery, or a tulle under-layer.

Lucky Drawers: Wear some lucky blue under garments for a hidden touch of blue only you (and your beau) will know about! They can simply be a blue color or incorporate a blue colored embellishment or embroidery.

Blue Suede Shoes: Go all out for a pop of color with bold and bright, blue shoes. They are sure to make a statement when you hit the dance floor. Or for a more subtle approach, decorate the soles of the shoes with blue rhinestone appliques, or spell out the words 'I Do'.
