Fall Inspiration

Fall is a gorgeous time of the year in Vermont, when the mountains get to show off their colors and the temperature cools enough for warm, knit sweaters and bonfires in the evening. Rich hues of red, orange, yellow, and brown are everywhere and the fruits from the labors of summer are harvested. It's no wonder that it is many of the locals' favorite season. Summer may have the distinction of being "wedding season", but there is something about a fall wedding in Vermont that conjurs cozy, romantic thoughts. Today, we put together some inspiring fall images to get you excited for the cooler weather.

When we first laid eyes on Alicia and Kyle's bold and colorful wedding, we couldn't take our eyes off the vibrant and unique details. Alicia, an artist, was inspired by a CMYK color palette and went for funky and unique touches that she could DIY. The result? A one-of-a-kind celebration full of eye candy, proving that you don't need a huge budget to achieve some wow factor. Here is what Alicia had to say about the wedding planning and execution:

Jeannette and Joseph's nature themed wedding was full of enchanting details that blended in beautifully with the breathtaking Lake Elmore landscape. The L.A. based couple chose Vermont for their destination nuptials because of Jeannette's fond childhood vacation memories. They chose butterflies to tie in Joseph's Chinese heritage and birds to honor Jeannette's grandmother, an avid bird watcher and painter, who passed away a few months before their wedding. Here are some other detailes Jeannette shared with us about their big day:

With so many natural waterways, lakes and ponds, it's no wonder that water plays a large part in Vermont weddings. Combine some H2O with hand-hewn post and beams, tree branch details, and a secluded mountaintop location and you pretty much have everything that is wondeful about Vermont in the Summer. Here are some gorgeous inspirational images Vermont Bride photographed, with the help of Stacie Maddox, at The Ponds at Bolton Valley. Lakeside details with rustic, vintage charm, combined with some amazing vendors!
